I had hoped for more how-to, more descriptions of direct experience, which is why 4 stars, however from an academic viewpoint this is 6 stars. This book is very thorough, and gives a good overview of its subject. For the how to side, I like Initiation: Boys Are Born, Men Are Trained: My Journey w||'Magic, mystery, madness and meaning are all tackled in Lynne Hume's brilliant, wide ranging discussion that opens doorways to richer understanding of the ways in which people access other realities.'
